NICK BURGIN (Goalkeeper)
Joined in... Summer 2006
Nick is a new addition to the squad, joining through club secretary Sharpy, and he hopes to get some fitness and provide cover and competition for Kirky. Another good shot stopper, Nick hasn't played competitive football for several years but an ever-present at training, he is slowly getting back into it and regaining match fitness. Another of the squad members likely to be found up town on a much too regular basis, Nick is a fond lover of all things wet.

MARK HOSKIN (Defender)
Joined in... Xmas 2004
Hoppo is one of the elder statesmen of the club, but despite the years ticking by he is still seen out on the town centre most weekends - in fact, every weekend. Has an uncanny knack of always being late to games and training, but always gives his all on the pitch, playing each game as if it's his last. Settled at right back for the past season and a half, although has on occasions slotted in at centre back when called upon.

CHRIS SHARPE (Defender)
Joined in... Summer 2004
As of 2006/2007 Sharpy took over the secretary job, giving him extra responsibility this season, which may be a bit risky considering he still doesn't know how to iron his own clothes. Often told he is the double of Harry Potter, Sharpy can play either left back or centre back, and will be hoping for another season of solid performances this time around. Another of the town regulars, is famed for his impression of a Rob Kelly dive during the trip to Whitley Bay.

DARREN HANCOCK (Defender)
Joined in... Xmas 2003
Lovingly named Shancock, Daz has been with the club since midway through his first season when he joined as a nippy little winger. Since then, many a pint has been drunk and the mobility is now more restricted, although he is still a mean tackler on either side of the defence. Once known for his love of the younger female, he is now settled down breaking the hearts of many teenagers throughout the nation.

ASHLEY HENDLEY (Defender)
Joined in... Summer 2006
A recent addition to the Angel squad, Ash is a strong tackling defender who takes no prisoners, which is impressive seeing as he is young enough to be Hoppo's son. Fancies himself as a bit of a ladies man, only time will tell if he can live up to his reputation, although Baz is under strict instructions to serve no alcohol to the young un'. Nevertheless, a good signing and should add an extra physical and vocal presence to the back line.

CHRIS HEWITT (Defender/Midfielder)
Joined in... Summer 2003
Despite not having put pen to paper this season due to a long term injury, Hewitt can still be found at Angel matches week in week out, often with a flag in his hand or a whistle in his mouth. Many people are starting to tout him as a future Steve McLaren lookalike, and he certainly likes to give out his own tactical advice when jogging up and down the touchline. Doctors still hold hope of a future return for the midfielder.

PAUL EAST (Defender/Midfielder)
Joined in... Summer 2003
Without doubt one of the most talented players in the squad, Easty has a good pedigree having once been touted as a future professional, although injuries put paid to this dream. Now though, he can be found dishing out orders on the pitch for the Angel - although unfortunately work commitments mean East can only play every other week. On the ale front, if you can keep pace with this boy, your likely to end up in accident and emergency. Drinks Stella like Kids drink milk!

GEOFF WILKINSON (Defender/Midfielder)
Joined in... Summer 2006
Geoff joined a few games into the 2006/07 season and took on the role of joint manager with Jonno, although he does pull on his boots when required. At the youthful era of his early 40's, Geoff took the elder statesman tag away from Hoppo, and despite no longer having that break of pace, his experience is a valuable asset to the club. Can be known to lose his temper on the sidelines, and I dont envy any opposition who get a mouthful of the joint manager.

JONNO SMITH (Midfielder)
Joined in... Summer 2003
Right sided midfielder Smith has been at the club since its formation, and much of his hard work behind the scenes has in fact kept the club running up until now. A hard working winger, has been known to see red mist on several occasions and has in fact picked up 3 of the clubs 4 red cards in the three years the club has been playing. Often given plenty of stick for his fashion sense, if you ever have a spare denim pocket going Smith's your man.

JASON HICKMAN (Midfielder)
Joined in... January 2006
Another of the club's new recuits for 2006, Jason is a skilful and ankle biting midfielder who will be looking to help the Angel to promotion in 2006/07. Unfortunately, injuries have so far restricted his performances for the club although he will be hoping for an injury free season this time round. One of the clubs Boza boys, can often be seen knocking out the shapes in Lava or Livingstones with partner in crime Phil.

ROB KELLY (Midfielder)
Joined in... Summer 2007
Possibly the worlds greatest footballer (so he likes to tell people), Rob is a tricky and creative midfield player with an eye for goal. Good on the ball and likes to run at players, unfortunately off the pitch he has more wise-cracks than a centre for noble women. Is renowned for having a wardrobe which contains 25 polo-shirts, unfortunately they're all the same just in different colours. Oh and add to that his delightful blue coat!

RYAN VARLEY (Defender)
Joined in... Summer 2007

KEITH MATTHEWS (Midfielder)
Joined in... Summer 2003
Keith 'the beef' Matthews has been at the club since back in the day, and has played a variety of positions from striker, to centre midfield, to left wing. With good feet he can be a nightmare for opposition defences, although he does get a good kicking most weeks. If there is any kind of night out you can guarantee Keith's attendance, and is most likely to be found drinking Magners after recently being converted and now finding himself addicted.

MARK THOMPSON (Striker)
Joined in... Summer 2004
Pablo has topped the goalscoring charts in every season since joining the club, and will again be hoping to notch up twenty plus goals this season. Despite his eye for goal, he does have a habit of going 2 or 3 games without a goal, only to come back the following week and put three or four in. The ginger ninja has a bad habit for losing his shirt when on a night out, although as of yet we haven't been able to provide our female readers with photographic evidence.

BEN TRUEMAN (Defender)
Joined in... Summer 2007

JAMIE AINSWORTH (Defender/Midfielder)
Joined in... Summer 2005
The only player in Sunday League football who has an uncanny knack of picking up an injury every match. Jamie's ability to play pretty much anywhere on the pitch makes him a great player to have at the club, although as we have seen when playing him at right back he does get a little excited. A good dribbler of the ball, often brings his girlfriend to matches, only to leave her listening to Peak FM in the car for the entirity of the game.
